Farmers Can Get Over 150,000 Rs Loan From Kisan Cards

The Kisan Card has been introduced to help farmers expand their crop production and increase their earnings. To support this, the Punjab government is offering loans to Kisan Card holders, ranging from Rs 30,000 to Rs 150,000 per acre. This funding is aimed at enabling farmers to grow their crops more effectively and boost their overall profits.

Main Components Of Kisan Card

Enrollment in the program will be done online. Farmers who own up to 12.5 acres of land are eligible to apply. To qualify, a farmer must have a mobile SIM card linked to their CNIC (verified by PMD). Loans will be available to those whose land records are accessible through the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA). Farmers will be digitally validated through an interface between PLRA records and the registration database managed by PITB. After land registration and verification, as well as checks with PMD, eECIB, and NADRA, the Bank of Punjab will issue the Chief Minister Kisan Card to the farmer. Initially, 500,000 farmers will be eligible for the loan program on a first-come, first-served basis. Each farmer can borrow up to Rs 150,000 per season for up to 5 acres, with a maximum of Rs 30,000 per acre.

CM Approved Agriculture Mall Project In 4 Districts

In addition to the Kisan Card program, the meeting also approved the Agricultural Mall Pilot Project. This initiative will enable farmers in four key districts of Punjab—Okara, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, and Sargodha—to access agricultural supplies, including seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, as well as loans and counseling services. Furthermore, the Fresh Agriculture Graduates Intern Program was also approved, aiming to train 1,000 new agriculture graduates in Punjab. Additionally, the CM Green Tractor Scheme will distribute 10,000 tractors to farmers over the course of the year.

Conclusion

The distribution of Kisan Cards in Punjab represents a major initiative by the government to support 500,000 farmers with subsidized inputs and financial assistance. Eligible farmers are urged to register for the Kisan Card either by visiting their local agriculture centers or by sending an SMS. These benefits will become available starting October 15.
